You use Indomitable Gladiator Beast's ATK boost, then want to return 2 Gladiator Beast cards from your GY to add it back, possibly during the Battle Phase or in response to D.D. Crow.
Its GY effect is an ignition-like effect (Spell Speed 1), so it can only be activated during your Main Phase when the game state is open. It cannot be activated during the Damage Step or in the middle of another chain. The ATK boost can be used in the Damage Step, but the GY return effect cannot.

You want to use IGB's GY effect during the Battle Phase or in response to D.D. Crow.
