Can you verify an opponent's Deck for Emissary of the Afterlife or Nobleman of Crossout?!
A card effect would require checking whether a card exists in the Deck.
In Konami-sanctioned events, you generally cannot verify the Deck unless the card explicitly instructs you to. Nobleman of Crossout allows a reveal, but Emissary does not.
Do destroyed by battle effects miss timing?!
A monster is destroyed by battle and its effect would trigger.
No. Effects that trigger on being destroyed by battle do not miss timing.

●If neither player has a Level 3 or lower Normal Monster in their Deck, the effect of Emissary of the Afterlife disappears BUT both players get to look at their opponent's Decks before they are shuffled.
●If only 1 player as a Level 3 or lower Normal Monster in their Deck, then that player gets to add the monster to his hand.
●You select monsters when the effect resolves. The effect of Emissary of the Afterlife does not target.
